September

Apparently, September is another of those months.

This week, there are two funerals at our church. Two extremely difficult, emotional services.

The first is for David-David was a man who came in every week with his friend Jim to sharpen pencils for the sanctuary. Both David and Jim were mentally handicapped but were the best of friends. David was diagnosed with cancer about three weeks ago and passed away on Saturday. When I talked to Jim on Sunday he told me, "I've lost my friend."

The second is Jack-Jack was a 13 month old who died from drowning in his pool last night. This tragedy affects our whole entire church body because they have attended our school. Their oldest daughter was in sunday school two days ago (before all the tragedy happened).

My mind and heart are reeling. Please pray for our congregation, our school, these families, these friends.

oh hannah, I am praying for you and your church. death is never fair, always wrong, and always full of grief. but when it is tragic, its full of rage.
grieve how you need to grieve.
